What this site records, and why

Prerender runs this site to learn how each machine connects to a website and what it does once it arrives. We use what it records to describe each machine on these pages, and to make Prerender's own tools fetch pages the way each machine does.

Every visit

For every request, from machines and people alike: the time, the visiting network address, the technical details of the connection (the encryption handshake, the HTTP version, and the headers your software sent, in order), and which pages and files were requested.

Your browser's details, only with a yes

Some pages can record what a browser reports about itself, such as screen size, time zone, language and graphics. That runs on its own for machines that name themselves as crawlers or sign their requests as agents. Everyone else is asked first, and nothing is read unless you choose Allow. The same rule covers this site's one cookie.

What we never keep

Values of cookies this site didn't set, and login or authorization values. These are removed before anything is written.

How long

Records are deleted automatically after 90 days. They aren't sold or shared, and nothing here follows you to other sites.

Your data

Questions or requests about your data go to Prerender, as set out in Prerender's privacy policy. Contact: privacy@prerender.io.
